No Comments Fundraiser Pasta Dinner for Jackson
Friends of ours ran into tragedy this September when their youngest child, Jackson, had a stroke at just 2 years of age.
He was first taken to a Windsor Hospital for assessment, and then rushed to London Children’s Hospital 36 hours later, where he’s been since that time.
This, of course, is tragic, but it also hits close to home with us because we have a son Jackson’s age, and his older brother, Lincoln, is in school with our daughter.
See the below for the original flyer from their school.
FUNDRAISER PASTA DINNER
On Saturday, December 10, 2011, The Chrysler Company is sponsoring a pasta dinner at the Scottish Club of Windsor, 1340 Tecumseh Road East to benefit one of our Dr. David Suzuki families. Jay and Serena Kunstra’s two year old son Jackson suffered a stroke on Tuesday, September 13, 2011. Thirty-six hours after he was admitted to a Windsor Hospital, he was rushed to London’s Children’s Hospital.
Jackson has undergone numerous tests, has battled a stomach infection and is currently fighting pneumonia in his left lung. He cannot drink or eat orally, sit, stand or speak. Once he gets well enough to leave Children’s Hospital in London he will be transferred to Toronto’s Bloorview Hospital for a minimum of three months of physical and speech therapy.
As you can well imagine, the family’s finances have been drained to support their living accommodations in London and their future expenses in Toronto.
Jackson’s brother Lincoln is a student in our Kindergarten program at Dr. David Suzuki School. The family’s good friends, at their work, have decided to put on the pasta dinner benefit to help them out with the associated costs of their son’s medical condition.
The cost for the pasta dinner is $15.00.
Please keep the Kunstras in mind this holiday season, and consider supporting their cause by joining them for the pasta dinner.
